Mayan Ball Game

The ball game was created and used over 3000 years ago. There were many groups of people playing this game. Such as, the Mayans, Aztecs, Olmec, and Huaxtec. Over 1300 of these ball courts have been found all across Mesoamerica. The oldest court found is in Paso de la Amada. This game was used for their religion. It is not known but it’s likely that they sacrificed the losers of the game.
The court was usually about the size of a football field. It had to hoop type thing that they had to hit the ball through on the sides. The ball they used was rubber, and it weighed all around from 8-12 pounds.

Rise of the Mongols

              Genghis Khan was one of the most powerful and successful leaders of all time. He Stretched his Mongol Empire by conquering many countries across Asia. They were first known as the Steppe people, but later they were known as the Mongols. They were successful in their battles because they used their horses and bow and arrows to be able to lure their enemies to a line of archers. This made them expert archers. The Mongols also used hand held weapons in battle. Every place that they conquered they killed all the men, but they left the beautiful women for Genghis Khan.
